Last week was a real lovely one.
I’ve been organising quite a big event for work for a while which finally took place on Wednesday – it went really well and really smoothly, so that’s a weight off my mind. I think I have around 11 or so weeks left in my current job (unless anything changes) and I’ve been looking for new Newcastle jobs. It’s all very exciting but it’s all going by so quickly!
On Friday my friend Alex came up from London for the day. I met him in the evening for a nice meal, wine and a catch-up. Laughs were had.
On Saturday we definitely had a bit of a lazy day. It was nice to have a free day with nothing to do. We did our usual visit to the charity shops and then as it was so sunny and warm (16 degrees!) we went to Rowntree Park to read our books. Was so nice to be outside without a coat.
On Sunday we had a visit from Chris’ mam and dad, twin Jonny and Kerstin, Carole’s friend from Sweden. While Kerstin and Carole went around the Minster, the three of us looked around the great bookshops York has to offer.
I need this book!
We then visited Georgina’s Cafe for afternoon tea which was gorrrrrgeous. So much cake. I popped into L’occitane to pick up 2 pots of the balm they have, released on IWD. All proceeds go towards women’s economic independence in Africa. The balm itself smells gorgeous, and can be used on lips, hair and skin.
The Laura Ashley store in York is closing down so there are some ridiculous bargains in there at the moment. I got myself a scarf for £9 down from £30 (so warm) and wallpaper is £1 a roll! Worth a look.
I also found out that York has a Zatchels on The Shambles! They had gorgeous models in the sale for £35…and I resisted! Sacrifices for the future etc….
I also took advantage of the slight increase in temperature to wear a skirt with a pop of colour. I can feel Spring a’coming!
Other less happy things this week have happened. My charger for my laptop broke and it is proving ridiculously hard to source a new one. Which means writing has been reduced to my phone 😐 and I cannot watch anymore David Duchovny/Californication. Have you watched this series? I LOVE it.
What have you been up to this weekend?
