Crabtree & Evelyn’s Garden Celebration
Now that we’ve crept our way slowly but surely into the month of May, some us are thinking about getting into our gardens to enjoy the sun as much as we can. Who am I kidding, we’re probably ALL thinking about it, yes? I can’t wait to spend my weekends outdoors. AND, as we are moving in with Chris’ parents in Newcastle for a while before getting our own place, Chris’ dad has offered me a little patch in the garden where I can begin my green-fingered calling.
Equally as exciting, I can’t wait for us to be able to get into the garden, crack open the Pimms, beer, and ice-lollies, casting any worries to one side of the gaudy beach towel.
I got invited to my first Garden Party of the year by Crabtree & Evelyn last week, held in the York branch of the store.
I was greeted by Jamie and offered prosecco or tea. It was a weeknight, but I couldn’t pass up the offer of a bit of fizz, could I? We were also successfully tempted by the cutest little cakes and uniquely flavoured jams – blueberry and lavender, anyone?
Anyway, after a natter with some other lovelies who’d been invited (and who I was very excited to meet), I was offered a hand treatment which was insanely good – and beneficial. I had a rosewater exfoliant applied to my hands, which was massaged into them, rinsed off with warm water, and then had a matching handcream applied. My hands felt the SOFTEST afterwards.
The shop itself was decorated beautifully, and smelled delicious.
The event has got me seriously excited for the warmer weather, and I’ll definitely be dropping back into the shop to pick up a few treats before our holiday!
We very kindly got given a goody bag to take away, and this hand cream I got given is gorgeous – the scent is light and floral, and not at all greasy.
And I can’t do these biscuits justice. You just NEED to go and buy some immediately.
The Garden Celebration theme has been devised to encourage the care of hands and skin after getting stuck into a bit of gardening, and products are appropriately infused with scents of rosemary, lavender, sage, thyme and oak moss.
